With many other compact tractor you'd have  a problem. With a Bolens Husky, you have a solution.  Without leaving the operator's seat, you simply reach over the side of the tractor and turn the differential control knob (located on the left rear hub)

for the degree of extra traction you need to keep you going. Full adjustment provides nearly straight-axle drive. Used with 1st (low range), Bolens controlled differential add up to ground-gripping power that gets you out of tight spots other tractor stay in.  When descending steep hill, differential control provides greater holding power to prevent the tractor to sliding. For climbing hills, it means more even distribution of power for greater traction.
