Mark Alberts Here are pictures of my John Deere 400 garden tractor. It is a 1975 model with a Brantly Manufacturing Company Loader and Backhoe attachment. Brantly was part of the Allied Equipment for John Deere back in the 70s and early 80s. The loader is capable of lifting 500 lbs. and the backhoe can dip 6 feet deep with two different buckets, a 8" and a 16". I have installed a deluxe seat from a JD 445 and an optional suspension system from a JD 420 for comfort during those long digging sessions. I also installed a ROPs that a dealer gave me from a rolled newer JD Utility tractor. The lights on the ROPs are also part of the optional lighting equipment for this tractor. I have a compliment of both front and rear wheel weights that put my vehicle weight at about 2300 lbs.
